"Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love."
-Ephesians 4:15-16
Want to Become a Member?
Many people don't usually think too much about being an "official" member of an organization any more, let alone a church. We often are welcomed into the life of the church and consider ourselves part of the family. And yet, there is still something incredibly comforting about "being a member" of an organization that we can't quite place our finger on.
Here at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, our thoughts about "membership" are based on the principles that God gives us in the Scriptures. Just as Jesus welcomed all people, everyone is always welcome to join us for worship and to be a part of our church family. At the same time, Jesus does ask certain things of those who are called to be His people.

"Our membership classes are all about discovering what Jesus wants for His people and from His people. For a number of weeks we take a journey through the commandments and teachings that Jesus gives us to help you find your unique role as a fellow member of the body of Christ." |
Our membership classes, or Adult Instruction Classes, are all about discovering what these things are. For a number of weeks we take a journey through the commandments and teachings that Jesus gives us and help you find your unique role as a fellow member of the body of Christ gathered in this place. If you have doubts or struggle to believe in Jesus, we are here to walk with you in your journey.
Since we are a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, we believe teach, and confess the faith in a specific way that we believe is faithful to the Scriptures and to our Lord's teaching (see our "What We Believe" page for more details about the teachings we hold). We are not a "bait and switch" kind of people, so we want to be upfront about what we believe. However, we welcome people from every and any faith background to learn about Jesus with us. We will walk with you step-by-step as you discover God's truth! If at the end of our time, you still aren't certain you believe as we do, that is fine. We will just continue growing together day by day.

Once again, you are always welcome to worship with us. However, if you have even a fleeting desire to become a member, please talk with our pastor. He is more than willing to work with you through whatever is going on in your life with Christ...even if you don't become a member. We are simply here to encourage you in Christ.
